Meet Our Team

  • Micah
  • Micah Cavolo
    Resident District Manager

Unlike many Chefs who are drawn to the kitchen to explore recipes and play with fire, Micah’s vision was a little more altruistic. As a father of three boys, he wanted to teach not only young Chefs but young children. Getting to know his neighbors and local farmers at community gardens he began teaching elementary school children the fundamentals of gardening, the benefits of composting and using local goods.

Micah is now a member of the USF Bon Appetit as the RDM and looking forward to sharing the Dream with the students, faculty and team.

  • Joe Debono
    Executive Chef

Joe DeBono is Bon Appétit Management Company’s Executive Chef at the University of San Francisco. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as the Executive Chef for Presidio Foods Catering, working under the leadership of two-time James Beard award–winning chef, Traci De Jardins.

Raised on the San Mateo Peninsula, Joe’s mother was an event coordinator and his sister a Broadway performer, so naturally entertaining runs in his blood and food is the avenue he chose to provide entertainment to others. It’s the moments when he sees people laughing and enjoying each other’s company while dining that remains most important to Joe. Comfort food comes in all types of cuisines and he is always just happy to be a part of the moment.

  • Dannie Stanton
    Director of Catering

I have been with Bon Appétit since 1992. I started at Stanford University as a busboy and within one year, I became a café supervisor. In 1995, I was promoted to the Catering Operations Manager at Stanford. When I was promoted, I didn’t know much about catering but was eager to learn. I used to work from the early morning to the late evening, trying to learn the job and gain the respect of my team. As I was learning, I found I really enjoyed catering and making clients happy. I moved onto Santa Clara University as the Catering Operations Managers shortly thereafter, where I found a home for 13 years. I have great respect for Bon Appétit, because it’s a tremendous company. There are many managers like me, who start as a busboy as an example, and grow to become Executive Chefs, Chef Managers and Directors of Catering.

I began my career with Bon Appetit when I was 19 years of age and while attending Dominican College. I took time off to have a family and returned to Bon Appetit at the USF location in 2006. I am forever grateful for the many opportunities that Bon Appetit has allowed me. I have grown personally, as well as professionally and feel that the sky is the limit if you work hard and seek out new opportunities with Bon Appetit & Compass Group.
